Post 16 have been looking at ways we can help protect our world and the environment. We watched clips, had a group discussion and then worked in pairs to produce a PowerPoint about what we can do in school.
Our first week back and Post 16 students have been busy tidying the greenhouse and weeding the vegetable beds.
To celebrate the end of the school year Post 16 enjoyed a game of virtual bingo with those learning at home joining those in school. We then enjoyed an egg drop challenge. It was lots of fun throwing eggs to each other and a bit of luck was needed for the egg not to break when we caught…
Today has seen the first harvest. We have two types of onions, cabbages and our first crop of potatoes.
we decided to give Dillon and Michael a bag each as they have helped plant and nurture them.
A rainy day for a Post 16 ramble and a hunt for a Geocache. Mrs Gordon put her whole heart and 'sole' into the walk!
Following the danceathon for the sports challenge, P16 have done our own dance. We think we have some secret John Travolta’s!!!
Students have been busy completing a variety of tasks that include waterproofing our hedgehog houses, weeding and watering our tomatoes.harvesting our indoor onions and placing our new compost bin.
We haven’t let the rain put us off!
Some Post 16 students enjoyed a ramble today. We walked from school to the River Tawd and it was great spending time outdoors in our local area. It was a hot day so an ice lolly at the end of the day was very much needed.
Students have been preparing their lunch using the camping stoves They have then eaten in their own tents- all socially distancing!!
We are very proud of this Post 16 student who earlier in March walked to the top of Kinder Scout. At 2,087ft above sea level, Kinder Scout is the highest point of the Peak District and one of the most challenging walks in that area. This is a great achievement, well done!
Post 16 enjoy a nurture session each week , following a relaxing discussion about our week and feelings we discussed what makes us smile and what we are grateful for.
