Today KS5A visited WLBC offices to have a look around to see what services they could offer. We was very lucky that John the Mayors assistant was able to visit the chamber and he delivered a talk all about the types of meetings that go on and the history of the building.

KS5 Work experience group enjoyed researching the canal, learning the length, width of the canal and speaking to members of the public.

KS5 enjoyed the opportunity to play wheelchair rugby. The experience was led by the Wigan rugby team.

KS5L enjoyed ‘World mental health day’, they celebrated it by joining in with the whole school drawing how they feel and sharing positive thoughts.

KS5H Students enjoyed a visit to Haigh hall, student took part in walking, den buildings, board games and playing in the park. They also enjoyed having a picnic outside while the weather was nice. They used:
* Good communication 
*Team work

KS5H students enjoyed looking around places to do work experience and places they will be going to attend like college, library and gym/swim.

Sports day in KS5

Travelled to JMO Sports Park for our Path to Paris walking challenge. Students also engaged in target games.

Back at school students had the opportunity to take part in the following:

Today KS5L +C helped planting new trees, bushes around school in horticulture. They worked very hard and worked well together as team. 

This week KS5L enjoyed making homemade pizza’s and chocolate chip cookies In lunch in unit. The students really enjoyed making their own pizza dough, the skills they used were weighing, measuring and chopping.
