My name is Carole Austin, I have been the Headteacher of West Lancashire Community High School since September 2014. I have worked within the field of SEN Education since 2003 and have been in a senior manager role since 2009.

I am immensely proud of West Lancashire Community High School, particularly as I have seen its growth since I first taught here (2005-2009). The school is situated within the building that was previously Black Moss (1971-2006), a moderate learning difficulties school.

The school has embraced its status of generic learning difficulties and has a very diverse group of children attending. As our thriving school grows and diversifies we are adapting resources and learning opportunities to maximise the learning experience for each of our students with the hope of providing a sound basis to enable our young people to make a successful transition to an adulthood that will include exciting prospects.

We welcome visits to our school from current or prospective parents/carers as well as health, care and education professionals. We are keen to also make links with community groups or potential work experience placements, within the local area, please contact the school office to arrange this.
