End of Week ParentMail 30.04.21

Dear Parents and Carers,

As we approach the bank holiday weekend, we would like to make you aware of some changes that will
be taking place over the next couple of months.

School is having some building works completed in the Post 16 area, therefore there will be changes to
the drop off and pick up of students at the beginning and the end of the school day.

The new procedures are as follows;
All Student Arrivals and Departures- Start and end of day
The path to the log cabin (Post 16) will not be accessible from Tuesday 4 May.
Parents will need to follow the instruction from duty staff when dropping off/picking up by car. Parents
will be instructed to join the queue to enter the Key Stage 4 yard, please allow additional time for this
process.
P16 walkers will be directed to the front yard, members of duty staff will support students with their new
routine.

Home Testing - Covid19
We would like to continue our thanks for the students who continue to take part in twice weekly testing.
We are expecting more test to be delivered early next week. Once these have arrived, the testing kits
will be sent home with students.

Therapy Dog
This week has seen us welcome Matilda our Therapy Dog. Matilda will be spending some of her days
onsite familiarising herself with the school environment and getting to know staff. Matilda has a strict
training programme and at this moment in time will not engaging in therapy sessions for students.
Students may see Matilda in passing and it is important that all parents return the consent form to allow
sessions to be planned accordingly in the future. We will continue to update on Matilda's progress via
the school blog and the school Facebook page.

This is an exciting new addition to our school team and we appreciate students patience as we know
many are excited to meet her.

Whole School Events
Mental Health Awareness Week takes place from 10 to 16 May 2021. This year, it is all about immersing
yourself in the '5 Ways to Wellbeing', while reconnecting with nature across the week - More information
to follow.

We would like to wish you all a lovely bank holiday weekend.

Kindest regards,

Mrs L Holcroft
Assistant Headteacher
