Students from KS5 played a few different games with their class mates today to build their social skills and enhance their communication with their peers. They played sound bingo, Uno and animal snap. This helps to build on positive relationships within the classroom.

Students from KS5 have worked hard all week earning wages for doing jobs within their classroom to then spend in the shop. They can choose from games and sweets to pens and pencils. 
 

Students from KS5L enjoyed listening to the story of “The Making of Milton” for their guided reading lesson. Students were told the story of a boy who lost his courage and how he was given a magic jar to help him become himself again. Following on from the story students were asked what things…

Students from KS5L created an amazing wall display during their communication, language and literacy lesson. Students listened to a poem about the seaside and then were given the task of creating their own version, inspired by days out at the seaside that they love.

KS5C had a day of taking part in problem solving activities from making the tallest down using dry spaghetti and marshmallows, making a marble run, tallest paper tower from paper and sellotape and working as a team to get the marble from one end to the other using tubes.

Students from KS5 have been learning valuable counting skills by counting the stock of the KS5 tuck shop. Each day different students from alternative classes will have the opportunity to count the stock and sell it to their peers during break time.  This allows the students to learn communication…

KS5W have been earning money through doing class jobs. On a Friday the students are able to visit the shop to spend their wages. Students can choose from sweets, pens, pencils and books. This enables to teach students about working to earn and using money.

Students from KS5W enjoyed starting their day with a Friday dance. This helps the students to wake up and get ready for the day. 

Students from KS3 enjoyed making rockets continuing with their topic of space. Students chose to work independently or as part of a team. They chose their own materials and designs.

Students from KS5W and KS5S had a lovely day at our homemade beach area. Students enjoyed playing with the water, making bubbles, feeling sand and firing water guns. In the afternoon they enjoyed making sand and glitter pictures of a beach scene. 

KS5L made hot dogs and homemade chips with apple crumble and custard for desert. Student had enjoyed peeling and chopping apples which is something that they have not done before. They learned a valuable new skill.

Students from KS5 have been practicing their counting and documenting skills for their very own tuck shop. Students take part in conducting a stock take before selling the tuck shop to their fellow peers at break time. This teaches them valuable skills of working within a shop environment and also…
