KS5W were learning basic food skills for their lunch in unit, making noodles and southern fried chicken. Within the lesson the students were able to read and follow the instructions on the packets to create a tasty meal which they all enjoyed.

KS5 have been enjoying a story about Twinkle the unicorn, in the story it was Twinkle’s birthday. KS5S made their own fairy cakes to enjoy for her birthday. All the students took turns in learning cooking skills such as measuring, cracking and mixing. 

KS5L chose to celebrate Chinese new year by making sweet and sour chicken noodles and jam turnovers. All the students took part in making something towards the final dish. Some students chopped vegetables, others chopped chicken, whilst another team made jam turnovers.

Today a student from KS5W was practicing their fine motor skills and even did this independently for 5 minutes. He loved being able to complete the task before the timer had finished and he continued to do this activity multiple times as he said he enjoyed it so much.

For period 6 KS5W went to the immersive room for some guided meditation and relaxation after working hard all day. They explored London and then a forest with animals. 

During a Maths session the students were asked to make pictures using shapes. Our students loved doing this activity and made lots of lovely pictures. They made a car, a rocket, a cake and even began to make faces. The students were also able to communicate to each other and to staff what shapes…
